A body was found under “unknown circumstances” on a transition lane of the 110 Freeway in South Los Angeles on Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A report of a man lying on the shoulder of the highway was called in at 6:36 a.m. Officers found the man on a transition lane from southbound 110 to westbound 105 freeway, CHP officer Moises Marroquin said. The man was pronounced dead on the spot.
That section of the highway was closed for about 2½ hours while the scene was processed and the body removed, Marroquin said.
Further details were not immediately available. Marroquin said he did not know the condition of the body or whether detectives were investigating it.
