This news is not rocket science: Bill Nye is married!
The scientist guy star wed author Liza Mundy last month at the Enid A. Haupt Garden outside the Smithsonian Institute Castle in Washington, DC, People reports.
The bride wore a sleeveless satin dress – with a mermaid hem, train and beaded sash – while the groom wore a black tuxedo with an orange buttonhole on its lapel, his father’s cufflinks and, of course, her signature bow tie.
After the couple exchanged vows in front of family, friends and officiant star trek alum Robert PicardoNye and Mundy celebrated with a reception, where they had their first dance at Sam Cookthe version of “Wonderful World”, People reports. (Although we can only hope that scientist guy the theme song was also played at some point during the night.)
So how did the science teacher and the journalist meet? Mundy mentioned Nye’s mother, Jacqueline Jenkins-Nyein his 2017 book Code Girls: The Untold Story of America’s WWII Codebreakers. Nye then allegedly emailed him and a link was formed.
Star weddings and secret runaways
However, Nye and Mundy have kept much of their relationship private. In fact, they’ve only made a handful of red carpet appearances together, their first appearance being at the Captain Planet Foundation’s 30th Anniversary Gala in March and their most recent being at the premiere of his new series Peacock. . The end is Nye in June.
