Cavaliers hire José Calderón as special adviser


The Cleveland Cavaliers have hired José Calderón as a special adviser to the Front Office, via

“We are thrilled to add someone of José Calderón’s background and experience to our front office,” said Koby Altman, the Cleveland Cavaliers’ new president of basketball operations.

“His accomplishments as a basketball player and his familiarity with our organization will be invaluable. We look forward to his ideas and perspective on how we can continue to move this team forward and strengthen our efforts for lasting, long-term success here in Cleveland. »

Calderón, 40, averaged 8.9 points and 5.8 assists in 16 NBA seasons.

Most recently, Calderón served as special assistant to Michelle Roberts, executive director of the National Basketball Player’s Association.

Calderón will have the opportunity to influence important basketball decisions for the Cavaliers going forward.
