Chris Gayle plays in 2nd edition of Legends League Cricket | Cricket News

The organizers of Legends League Cricket confirmed on Friday that West Indian lead-off hitter Chris Gayle will play in the upcoming second edition of Legends League Cricket. Gayle holds almost every record out there, including the most runs (now 10,000+), most hundreds, fastest hundred, and most fours and sixs in the game’s shortest format.

The left-handed batter has amassed 15 Test hundreds and more than 7,000 runs in 103 games and regularly pops up for many T20 franchises in jerseys numbered 333 – his highest first-class score, which he achieved against Sri Lanka in Galle, only to become fourth batsman after Don Bradman, Brian Lara and Virender Sehwag with two Test triples in a lifetime.

It was previously confirmed that the tournament will be played in six cities in India. Kolkata, Lucknow, Delhi, Jodhpur, Cuttack and Rajkot will host the matches and the scheduled dates for the tournament are from September 17 to October 8, 2022.
