Coroner identifies man fatally shot by Olympia officer outside a Starbucks


The Thurston County coroner has identified a man who was shot and killed by an Olympia officer outside a Starbucks on Monday.

The man was identified as 37-year-old Timothy Green and died of multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, the coroner told The Olympian.

According to police, Green pulled a knife at officers as they tried to arrest him for disorderly conduct.

According to the police, the man previously behaved in an “angry” way at various companies.

The shooting happened around 10:30 a.m. on Sleater Kinney Road and Martin Way SE in Olympia, at the Starbucks drive-thru.

A witness told KIRO 7 that they did not see the man with a knife, but investigators said on Wednesday that a pocket knife was found at the scene of the accident.

According to The Olympian, reports that two officers tried to use stun guns on Green before opening fire.
