Indonesia’s budget deficit in 2022 expected to be between 4-4.5% of GDP – official


JAKARTA: Indonesia is expected to run a budget deficit in the range of 4-4.5 percent of GDP due to better revenue performance, a finance ministry official said on Thursday.

Febrio Kacaribu, head of the Fiscal Policy Agency, also said the country would maintain its recovery momentum and record GDP growth above 5% this year.

“We assess the growing risk of global stagflation… nevertheless since 2021 and increasingly in 2022, the impact of the commodity boom on our economy is far more positive than negative,” he said. he said on an investor call.
