Kraken digital asset exchange to pay US $ 1.25 million fine to settle US CFTC fees


WASHINGTON: Kraken, one of the largest digital asset exchanges in the United States, agreed to pay a fine of US $ 1.25 million to settle the fees of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) United, he illegally offered some digital asset transactions and failed to register as required with the agency.

From June 2020 to July 2021, Ventures Inc, doing business as Kraken, offered margin-based retail commodity transactions in digital assets to U.S. customers who were not eligible. The company also failed to register as a futures trader, the CFTC said in a statement.

The company agreed to pay the civil fine and to cease and desist from any further violations.
