SINGAPORE: A 35-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday (June 9th) for his alleged involvement in several alcohol theft cases, police said.
In a press release on Thursday, police said they received a report on June 6 indicating alcohol was lacking at a supermarket along Orchard Road.
Through follow-up investigations and the use of CCTV cameras, officers from the Tanglin Police Division identified the man and he was arrested on June 9.
A total of 204 bottles of alcohol were also seized as exhibits, police said.
Preliminary inquiries have revealed that the man may be involved in other similar cases of alcohol theft along Orchard Road, police said.
Investigations are ongoing.
The man will be charged on Friday in court with theft in his home under the Penal Code, carrying a jail term of up to seven years and a fine.
