Matt Hardy was apparently just one of many AEW stars struggling with injuries right now. Other wrestlers on the sidelines have injured Anthony Bowens, Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, Darius Martin, Lee Johnson, Red Velvet and The Bunny.
Hardy was reportedly smitten after appearing at the AAA TripleMania XXX: Tijuana event last weekend where he teamed up with John Morrison for a tag team bout to take on Dragon Lee and Dralistico after Jeff Hardy was pulled from the event due to his recent DUI arrest.
After the match, Johnny betrayed Hardy, allowing Lee and Dralistico to win the match. Earlier this week it was reported that Hardy was suffering from knee swelling
Hardy responded to a tweet from Lucha Libre Online regarding his situation and wrote the following:
“Sorry to disappoint you but I’m fine ladies and gentlemen,” Hardy tweeted. “I was at AEW Dynamite tonight and I’m ready to go. Also, I loved and enjoyed my TripleMania 30 match for Lucha Libre AAA. Thank you, TJ!”
Hardy has not appeared on AEW Dynamite for the past two weeks while Jeff is suspended indefinitely due to the arrest. It’s unclear what AEW plans to do with Matt while his brother is away.
Sorry to disappoint you, but I’m fine, ladies and gentlemen. I was at #AEWDynamite tonight and I’m ready to go. Moreover, I loved and enjoyed my #TripleMania30 match for @luchalibreaaa. Thanks, TJ! https://t.co/649pjntjZI
