Minister of Social and Family Development Masagos Zulkifli tests positive for COVID-19


SINGAPORE: Social and Family Development Minister Masagos Zulkifli has tested positive for COVID-19 and will not be able to attend several events in person.

“Luckily my flu like symptoms with sore throat and fever as I got vaccinated and got my booster,” he said in a Facebook post on Thursday, June 23. .

Mr Masagos was scheduled to attend several events including Bags of Joy and Kampung Street 91 Carnival.

“My sincere apologies to the organizers who planned them for some time,” he said.

The Kampung Street 91 Carnival, scheduled to take place on Saturday, is organized by the Tampines Palmsville, Tampines Palmspring and Tampines Summerville Residents’ Network.

The event, which includes old-fashioned snacks, traditional games, and stage performances, is one of the family activities of the SG Families Celebration Year.

The Ministry of Social and Family Development has dedicated 2022 as the year to celebrate families in Singapore.
