Paramedics fail to save UC Davis student, who dies in a dorm room

A UC Davis student died in his dorm on Tuesday, the school announced.

Rescuers from Miller Hall, an on-campus dormitory, “did everything they could for the student,” a statement from the school said, but were unable to save him. The school has not released a cause of death or the identity of the student.

“It is with great sadness that we report that a student passed away this morning… at his on-campus Miller Hall residence. Our hearts go out to the family, friends and others who knew and loved him,” said the school in a tweet.

“We ask that the family’s privacy be respected at this difficult time. We know many of you are grieving and we share in that loss,” the school tweeted.

The university said counselors were on site to talk to the student’s roommates.

“The past few days have been one tragedy after another. I want to remind our community that we have resources for you. Get in touch and get help if you need it. Be careful, Aggies,” Gary May, the school’s principal, said in a tweet.

The Yolo County coroner’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
