Teen killed, another injured after being shot in a vehicle in Stockton

At 5:25 PM on Thursday, August 4, 2022, Stockton Police responded to reports of a shooting near East Morada Lane and Maranatha Drive. A 19-year-old man died and a 17-year-old woman was injured, police said.

A 19-year-old man was killed and a 17-year-old woman was injured early Thursday night after being shot while sitting in a car near Morada Lane and Maranatha Drive, Stockton.

Stockton Police said officers were on the scene at 5:25 p.m. When first responders arrived, they found a man and a woman in a vehicle, both of whom had been shot.

The man, the driver of the car, died on the spot. The woman, a passenger, was transported to a hospital in the region and is expected to survive, police said in a statement.

Police said witnesses said the victims’ car collided with several other vehicles after the shooting. Morada Lane has been closed while the investigation into the shooting continues.
