LONDON: Chinese investors led by Shanghai Kington Technologies have given up on buying the Welsh company Perpetuus Group, which specializes in graphene and nanomaterials, the British government announced after launching a security investigation.
“The proposed acquisition has been abandoned,” UK Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng said in a statement on Twitter about the deal.
“The UK government is monitoring the market at all times to identify acquisitions of potential national security interest. We will intervene if necessary,” he added.
